I started Zepbound at 204.6 lb and this morning I logged 188.2 lb, so I am down 16.4 lb in 8 weeks. I wanted to post the home mirror check because the scale moved, but the bigger change is how my waist, face, and clothes feel. My clinician had me on 2.5mg once weekly for weeks 1-4, then I moved to 5mg for weeks 5-8. Shot night is Friday, and I am not sharing this as dosing advice; it is just my prescriber-managed log. Weeks 1-2 were the hardest. Appetite dropped fast, but my stomach felt slow and heavy, especially the day after the shot. I had mild nausea in the morning, early fullness after a few bites, and one reflux night after eating too late. Week 3 was constipation week, which surprised me more than the appetite change. The reset that helped most was not dramatic: electrolytes before coffee, a protein anchor before noon, softer dinners on shot weekend, and a 10-15 minute walk after dinner. By weeks 5-8, the mental food noise was much quieter. I could leave food on the plate without bargaining with myself. The tradeoff was that I had to be intentional about protein, because low appetite made it too easy to under-eat. I am aiming for 90-110g/day, but the honest average is closer to 75-85g. The days I miss protein are the days I feel flatter and colder. The days I hydrate early and eat protein earlier, my energy is normal enough to work, walk, and not obsess. Side effects now are manageable: GI discomfort is about 3/10, constipation is occasional, and nausea is mostly dose-window related. I still watch late meals, greasy food, and coffee on an empty stomach. If I could restart, I would take mirror photos from day one, log symptoms by hour after shot, and treat protein like part of the prescription instead of an optional habit.
